Accessibility Statement
Website Accessibility Statement
At Bradford & Bingley we are committed to making our online presence as accessible as possible. This accessibility statement is a part of our continual promise to support the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) when designing and developing our website.
Scope of this Statement
This statement refers to the Bradford & Bingley retail website http://www.bradfordandbingley.co.uk/.
Standards Compliance
At Bradford & Bingley we are working towards complying with Priority 2 of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (WCAG 1.0). Meeting this standard is commonly known as Level AA compliance. As a result we aim to have all pages of our website complying to a minimum of Priority 1 requirements. Meeting this standard is commonly known as Level A compliance.
For more information on accessibility visit the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (WCAG 1.0).
Maintaining Accessibility Standards
We are continually making improvements to meet accessibility guidelines. As a part of recognising the importance of providing a website that is accessible by all users we have made significant changes to improve systems and procedures.
A member of the Online Department checks each page of the website before it is published. In situations where existing functionality does not meet either Level A or Level AA compliance and we can't remove the functionality from the website we commit to log the defect for future research and redesign. Further more, our content management system has been set up to ensure that non-accessible tags can't be entered in content being published.
To monitor and improve our systems further we commit to six monthly accessibility audits to review and guide further design enhancements.
Feedback
If you have difficulty accessing the website or have any comments or feedback, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
