What does AER mean?
Every savings product that shows an interest rate must show the AER. It stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and shows what the interest would be if it were paid and added each year. We do this so you can compare our accounts more easily.
Gross
The gross rate is the rate payable before the deduction of income tax.
Net
Interest will be paid gross to eligible non-taxpayers who register with us. Otherwise, it will be paid net of income tax at the prescribed rate. Net rates are shown to 2 decimal places.

Important Information:
- There is no cooling off period, once opened there are no additions or withdrawals allowed until maturity.
- After the fixed period, you can make further deposits into your account.
- Your interest can be credited back into your account or paid out to your nominated bank account.
- On maturity the account pays a Bradford & Bingley eBond Matured Bond Account Rate. This is variable and is equal to the Bank of England Base Rate and paid on the last day of each month.
- If you select interest paid on maturity this can be credited back into your account. Monthly interest must be paid out on the 1st of the month.
- After the 3rd anniversary of opening, the account will pay a variable rate of interest linked to our Matured eBond Account. Interest on the Matured eBond Account will be paid annually on the 31st March.
- Open your 3 Year Fixed Term eBond Account with as little as £1,000 up to a maximum of £2 million
