What does AER mean?
Every savings product that shows an interest rate must show the AER. It stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and shows what the interest would be if it were paid and added each year. We do this so you can compare our accounts more easily.
Gross
The gross rate is the rate payable before the deduction of income tax.
Net
Interest will be paid gross to eligible non-taxpayers who register with us. Otherwise, it will be paid net of income tax at the prescribed rate. Net rates are shown to 2 decimal places.

Important Information:
- There is no cooling off period, once the account is opened there are no additions or withdrawals allowed until maturity.
- If you select annual interest, this can be credited back into your account or paid out to you on the anniversary of the account opening. Monthly interest must be paid out on the 1st of the month.
- 6 months from the date of account opening, the account will pay a variable rate of interest linked to our Matured Bond Account. Interest on the Matured Bond Account will be paid annually on the 31st March.
- Open your Fixed Rate Bond Account with as little as £1,000 up to a maximum of £2 million.
- 5.37% gross p.a.
