What does AER mean?
Every savings product that shows an interest rate must show the AER. It stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and shows what the interest would be if it were paid and added each year. We do this so you can compare our accounts more easily.
Gross
The gross rate is the rate payable before the deduction of income tax.
Net
Interest will be paid gross to eligible non-taxpayers who register with us. Otherwise, it will be paid net of income tax at the prescribed rate. Net rates are shown to 2 decimal places.
Bradford & Bingley subscribe to the banking code, copies of which are available on our website, in our branches or can be requested by phoning our helpline.
Important Information:
These bonds are limited issue and can be withdrawn without notice.
